Start with the wine's shape
A glass changes the path of aroma and the way wine arrives on the palate. A narrower bowl can focus delicate or mineral profiles; a larger surface can give structured red wines more room to open.
The best glass is not always the largest or most specialized. It is the one that makes a particular wine easier to understand without drawing attention away from it.
Compare shapes, not rules
Glass shape can subtly change aroma perception. Sydonios groups its own range by aromatic and structural profile, while the most useful test remains pouring the same wine into two different shapes and comparing them side by side.
Run your own comparison
Pour the same wine into two shapes and keep the serving volume equal. Smell without swirling, then with air, and compare where the wine feels broad, focused or more textural. The difference is often clearer than any specification sheet.
