Begin in the vineyard
Maison Stéphan's story begins on the granite slopes around Tupin-et-Semons. The estate's identity is closely tied to parcel work, Syrah and old selections of Serine.
For the drinker, low intervention is most useful as a question rather than a badge: what did the producer choose to preserve, and how clearly can the place still be felt in the wine?
A family vocabulary
Across the range, the differences between parcels and cuvées provide a way to study Côte-Rôtie from within one producer's vocabulary. Texture, perfume and energy become more revealing than a checklist of cellar techniques.
